Client: John Hollands

Getting it right at Gallipoli Barracks The $777 million redevelopment one of Australia’s most significant military facilities – Gallipoli Barracks in the Brisbane suburb of Enoggera – is an enormous task. As the Barracks have remained fully operational throughout the project, there’s been the potential for things to get very complicated! Yet with our quality scaffolding products, backed by streamlined processes and strong communication, playing a part in this major military rebuild has been a cinch for Acrow. The Gallipoli Barracks redevelopment is broken up into five projects, managed by five separate John Hollands build teams. Acrow is currently involved with Team 3.

“We’re doing stores, workshops and accommodation at the moment. It’s a series of new buildings and Acrow has been contracted to deliver a full scaffolding package comprising labour, transport and hire of the scaffolding,” explains Acrow Account Manager, Tim Doherty.

A proven track record Acrow’s involvement in the Gallipoli Barracks project as a whole began in 2010, when Acrow was selected to work with Team 1 to construct obstacle courses, bunkers and firing ranges.

“Our success with Team 1 made Acrow the clear choice for Team 3,” says Tim. “Our pricing, our proven performance and our on-site management have all been appreciated by the John Hollands team, who are responsible for overall project delivery.”

Safety first Safety is paramount at Gallipoli Barracks, and Acrow’s products and procedures have ensured compliance with safety standards every step of the way. “We’ve adhered strictly to all the rules and regulations in force at the Barracks. Military training has been going on while we’ve been there and we can’t impede the day-to-day running of the facility. With regular communication, a solutions-focussed approach, experienced scaffold professionals and a site manager present every day, we’ve been able to ensure everything has gone smoothly.”
